Design
The Xiaomi 11T has the same appearance as the Pro model. They’re difficult to distinguish. However, there are a few feature differences on the inside. The design is quite appealing, with a two-step camera bump and a highly reflective curved glass back panel. A closer look reveals a subtle texture that resembles metal. The aluminum frame is curved as well and has a matte finish. And you get something here that many other mid-rangers don’t: water and dust resistance. This is to confirm that the 11T has an IP53 rating for dust and splash protection.
Display
The Xiaomi 11T features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a fast refresh rate of 120 Hz and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. Yes, Gorilla Glass Victus, you read that correctly. Swiping and scrolling are, however, quite smooth due to the high refresh rate.
The screen is also extremely responsive due to its high 480 Hertz touch sampling rate. The refresh rate of the screen will adapt to specific apps such as YouTube. This display looks great, especially for a mid-ranger. You do get 10-bit color support. Colors are accurate, and there are plenty of options to tweak them in the settings. Support for HDR 10 Plus is also available. It would have been nice to have Dolby Vision here, as it is on the Pro model.
Performance
Storage options include 128 or 256 gigabytes, which are not expandable, so be aware. The Xiaomi 11T uses the latest MIUI 12.5 interface, which is based on Android 11. At its heart is the same interface we’ve come to expect from Xiaomi, complete with a familiar layout and features.
Furthermore, Xiaomi promises three major Android updates as well as four major security patches. It also differs from the Pro version due to its MediaTek MT6893 Dimensity 1200 5G (6 nm) chipset. It offers upper-midrange performance as well as 5G connectivity. It holds its own against phones powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 700 series chips. There’s more than enough power here for reliable daily performance as well as gaming.
