Platform

The Samsung Galaxy S22 5G is powered by Android 12 and the One UI 4.1 launcher. One UI simply brings the best of Android 12 here. For example, the privacy features are present and correct. You can quickly toggle camera and microphone access for all apps.

When you launch an app that uses the camera or microphone, a small indicator will appear in the top right corner. You’ve got a lot of customization in one UI. For example, you can change the wallpaper and other settings as usual, but you’ll also see the new color palette option. This can actually change the theme and colors based on the wallpaper you have installed at the time.

Sound

The Galaxy S22 5G features a stereo speaker setup, as one would expect from a premium device. It has a high output volume that will more than suffice. The quality is also quite good, with adequate clarity. Unfortunately, no headphone hack as usual. You’ll also need Bluetooth 5.2 headphones to connect.

Design

For the S22 generation, Samsung hasn’t done much to change the design. At first glance, you could easily confuse this phone for the Galaxy S21, which is also 5G. One of the giveaways might be the flatter edges on this one. It is also available in a slightly different color palette.
