Design
The G21 has a back made of gently firm plastic that makes no attempt to resemble glass or metal. Its look is appropriately understated because there is no light-reactive layer. Additionally, the rear impact’s texture adds a little grip. We offer the phone in two color options: Nordic Blue and Dusk. Nokia chose a spherical camera housing for the model from the previous generation. The left corner of the new Nokia G21 is dominated by a more understated rounded rectangle. It is lightweight (190 grams) and portable.
Display
The G21’s 6.5-inch LCD screen is exactly what we would anticipate from a low-cost gadget. It has a 720p panel rather than the 1080p one found in phones from brands like Realme and Xiaomi. Even inexpensive phones have impressive displays, as we’ve seen in the early 2022 releases, but as you could expect, that is not the case here. The Nokia G21 scored a 1631:1 (nominal) Contrast ratio in a performance test from GSMArena. Despite having a 90Hz refresh rate that makes menus appear to scroll more smoothly, that is below average.
The color depth is largely “RGB”, lacking in many OLED and LCD-based machines, but they cost a little more. Due to its low cost and large display, we don’t mind the less saturated appearance. The G21’s display is generally mediocre.
Camera
The smartphone has a 50-megapixel grade-one sensor, which seems to be the popular resolution this semester, as seen in premium devices like the Samsung Galaxy S22. Obviously, this sensor’s version can’t match the ones in premium smartphones, but it still produces quality photos and videos.
For a smartphone of nearly entry-level capability, the Camera App delivers. Shooting during the day yields images with a somewhat warm color temperature, strong HDR processing, and color that appears sufficiently natural due to the lack of oversaturation.
Performance
Android 11, which is currently the earliest version of the operating system, is used with the Nokia G21. If Nokia had chosen Android 12, they would have made several significant modifications, such enhancing the color of the menu system.
But why might Android 11—rather than Android 12—be advantageous on the Nokia G21? This is so that the software program can execute in its purest form. There are no unused applications or annoying extra team-up components. The G21’s general performance is also unaffected by the software. The T606 (12 nm) Unisoc chipset is a bit uncommon and found in the Nokia G21.
